Veena to feature in 3D horror

20
MUMBAI: Veena Malik is currently shooting a 3D horror movie in South India. The destination is being kept a secret for security reasons. But Veena reluctantly revealed her ‘horror’ plans.
“It’s a 3D horror film with Telugu filmmaker Hemant Madhukar, and it’s really hard to shoot. For one, we are shooting in the wilderness. There are no luxury hotels, no daily comforts. Then it’s a 3D film, not like the other 3D films in Hindi where the 2D format is converted into 3D. We are shooting in 3D which means every shot takes hours sometimes. It’s really time-consuming because I am playing both the ‘thriller’ and ‘horror’ element of the film.”
Veena is apparently in almost every frame of the film.
She performs all her stunts on her own in the Madhukar film. “Lots of wirework and flips and somersaults and bruises and cuts. I am roughing it out here in the jungles and enjoying every bit of it.”
On a more cheerful note, Veena is happy she is shooting for an actual 3D film.
Perhaps not aware of Vikram Bhatt’s Haunted 3D, Veena says, “This is the first Hindi film to be actually shot in the 3D format. Otherwise films like Ra.One were shot in 2D and transferred to the 3D format.”

No more cop act for Salman Khan

19
MUMBAI: Even though Salman Khan’s biggest success had him playing a police officer, the actor is staying away from cop roles.
The actor who has played a cop in ‘Dabangg’, ‘Wanted’ and ‘Garv’ is weary of doing another cop role and hence has scrapped the idea to remake Telugu film ‘Dookudu’, which starred Mahesh Babu.
Salman and his family had shown keen interest to remake the film but after going through the script, Salman seemed reluctant to do a cop role.
Speaking to a daily, a source said, “In ‘Dabangg 2’, which goes on floors in March, Salman plays a cop yet again. That bascially forced him to rethink Dookudu.”
Salman’s decision came as a major surprise to the producer and the hero of the film-Mahesh Babu.
“The entire Khan family had watched the Telugu version of the film and they were very keen on remaking it in Hindi,” the source said.
The source further said, “Salim Khan had watched the film first. And then Salman saw it at Pixion theatre, in Bandra, on November 13. Salman’s sister Alvira Khan and brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri wanted to produce the remake. She had even flown down to Hyderabad to finalise the deal with Mahesh and his wife Namrata. Either Sohail or Arbaaz were to direct the project.”
“In fact, even the financial modalities were worked out. The actor’s decision to back out after all this has come as a shock to Mahesh,” added the source.
