Shahid Kapoor shoots two ads simultaneously

MUMBAI: Shahid Kapoor who has returned to Mumbai after his Spanish vacation has a clutter of ads to shoot before he finalizes at least two new film projects. That explains why on Wednesday he was shooting two ads in Madh Island on two adjacent sets, for a paint brand and for a coffee brand, the latter with Priyanka which required them to splash water on one another in a garden.

A bit like the time Dharmendra in the early 1970s shot Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s Chupke Chupke and Chaitali on two floors of the same studio.

They’re currently shooting Kunal Kohli’s untitled film together. And Shahid Kapoor is trying to keep as much cordiality as possible in his public rapport with Priyanka Chopra.

When Shahid shot an ad on Wednesday for a paint and a coffee brand at Madh Island, there was a climate of cool cordiality that culminated in a media interaction turning into quite a fiasco.

Apparently, Shahid and Priyanka simply refused to give joint bytes to the waiting television journalists who had gathered at the venue of the ad-shoot. This refusal was most surprising in the light of the fact that media-persons had been invited to cover the shooting as a Shahid-Priyanka event.

Says a source that was present at the shooting of the ad, “Shahid wouldn’t budge from his no-joint-bytes stance, and Priyanka agreed with him. They both felt that at this point in their working relationship, the last thing they needed was televised togetherness.”
