Did the Serial Kisser Really Contaminate Bollywood?

8
MUMBAI: Yes you guessed it right we are talking about the macho man, the serial kisser of Bollywood. A title like this comes with sheer hard work and determination isn’t it? Not to mention this is the sure shot way to achieve immediate fame.
Now all of us know Emraan Hashmi for his kissing streak. It seems however that Emraan has no regrets for all he’s done. In fact it won’t be wrong to put it that he actually takes pride in his acts.
It was after Anurag Basu’s ‘Murder’ (2004) that Emraan hit the gossip columns in Bollywood. It is Bollywood after all and something like this here is indeed considered newsworthy.
The on-screen Casanova seems to admit that he did contaminate the industry with his not so liked lip locks. Emraan however feels that if not he then some other star would have showed this aspect to tinsel town. Cinema he feels keeps evolving with time and anything and everything that is bold did and always will raise eyebrows in Bollywood. Many have often attributed Emrann of doing something very much against our Indian traditions.
For Emraan it’s all in your mind. Be it vulgarity or boldness it all depends from person to person. Also he feels that something the audiences love to see and for which there is a huge market can purely not be so wrong.
When asked whether the serial kisser title has helped him grow in the industry or acted as a hindrance Emraan honestly states that neither. He feels no one cares a straw for anything unless and until his movies are doing well at the box-office and making some quick bucks. True it is how can it matter to producers and directors as long as you are keeping their pockets full with the box-office collections.
Hashmi who is now 32 years by age with a wife and sons says that he is never comfortable in sharing the details of his films with his wife and kids. Now Emraan if there is nothing wrong in the kind of films you do one does not help but wonder why this secretive game. It seems the serial kisser’s words and actions do not match in real life.
It seems however that the actor is taking a U-turn from his bold movies. His last few releases saw more of acting that his serial-kisser attitude. Consider ‘The Dirty Picture’ and Emraan’s character is one who hates the voluptuous Silk. Now this is not the kind of roles we expect of Emraan. He had to be playing the role of Tushar Kapoor and liplocking Vidya Balan instead. Wouldn’t that be what the common masses would expect?

MUMBAI: There are certain Bollywood actors that don’t like to take risks because they believe that audience love them in particular niche. Akshay Kumar has always made his mark in Bollywood as one of the best action heroes but later he decided to go for some change and he moved on to comedies. However, it seems like none of his comedy movies have worked at the box office recently and therefore he has decided to go for some diversity in the future. Akshay is probably the busiest actors in Bollywood now along with Salman Khan as he will have five movies releasing this year.
The actor will be first seen in Housefull 2, a comedy directed by Sajid Khan which will be out in the theaters in April followed by Rowdy Rathore, an action movie which is directed by Prabhu Deva. He will then be seen in Joker, a fantasy adventure film which is directed by Shirish Kunder and thereafter he will be seen in Khiladi 786 which is yet another comedy action movie directed by Ashish R Mohan. He will also be seen in Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai 2 but so far the release date for the movie has not been announced.
Talking more about his films Akshay said that some of the movies were planned to be released in 2011 but got postponed and therefore there are five releases in 2012. He also said that since all the movies belong to different genre people will enjoy watching him over and over in different characters. However, he denied that choosing different characters and genres were not a part of the strategy that could make him the top khiladi in the business. However, this will definitely give him some chance to prove himself and to get back in business after series of flops in the last few years.

Tom Cruise on new mission

LOS ANGELES: Oscar-nominee Tom Cruise kicked off on Thursday the rollout of the fourth installment of the "Mission Impossible" franchise with a limited "fan screening" in Japan ahead of its world premiere next week.
Cruise, 49, returns as super agent Ethan Hunt saving the world yet again in "Mission Impossible - Ghost Protocol" packed with stunts and action scenes, some featuring the world's tallest building -- Dubai's 828-metre (2,716 ft) Burj Khalifa.
In the latest in the series of action blockbusters that has grossed over $2 billion worldwide, Impossible Mission Force IMF.L operative Hunt and fellow agents get blamed for a terrorist bombing of the Kremlin and are forced to run.
The agency is dissolved and the group -- without any resources or backup -- must find a way to clear the agency's name, prevent another attack and avert a nuclear war.
Asked at a press conference for local media broadcast on the movie's Japanese website how he coped with hard training and long hours on the set, Cruise said: "I just love what I do and I do it because I want to entertain."
"I love being a part of the team and telling a story," said the actor dressed in a military green sweatshirt highlighting his muscular arms and torso.
Major parts of the film were shot in Dubai, where it will officially open on December 7, while the action also takes Hunt to Moscow, Budapest and Mumbai.
Paramount Pictures, a subsidiary of Viacom Inc ., said Cruise chose to start the film's tour in Tokyo ahead of the Dubai splash as a gesture to his Japanese fans and the nation that suffered so much from the March 11 earthquake, tsunami and the ensuing nuclear crisis.
The film will be released in Japan on December 16 and in the United States on December 21 with theatrical releases around the world staggered over several weeks.
Two-time Academy Award winner Brad Bird directed the film and the cast include Jeremy Renner, nominated for an Oscar for his role in the 2008 war film "The Hurt Locker." Other actors include Simon Pegg and Paula Patton.
Bird won the Oscars for animated films "The Incredibles" released in 2004 and "Ratatouille," released in 2007.
Cruise is producing the film with J.J. Abrams who last teamed up with the actor in 2006 for "Mission Impossible III."
Cruise made his screen debut 30 years ago and since has made 34 films and was involved in a producing role in 17, earned Oscar nominations for leading roles in "Born on the Fourth of July" and "Jerry Maguire." He was also nominated for a supporting role in "Magnolia."
Cruise's last film, 2010 action comedy "Knight and Day" co-starring Cameron Diaz, got mixed reviews.
But the Mission Impossible series has been a solid bet both at the box office and with critics. All three installments garnered more than 50 percent of favourable reviews on aggregation website Rotten Tomatoes with the third scoring 70 percent of positive reviews. AGENCIES
