Kid fans meet Emraan during Jannat 2 shoot

MUMBAI: After his successful innings in The Dirty Picture, actor Emraan Hashmi seems to have finally got a taste of stardom. This time, however, it was not his regular set of adult fans, but rather school children, who wanted to get a glimpse of the actor best-known for his onscreen serial-kisser avatar.
“I was actually very shocked to see school kids of class six and seven, bunking their schools to meet me at the shoot,” says Emraan. The actor discovered an overwhelming crowd of child-fans following him, while he was shooting for Jannat 2 in the capital.
“We were shooting at Qutab Minar and it is a huge tourist spot, so a lot of people come there,” says Emraan.
Ask what his tiny fan brigade has to say and Emraan says, “I didn’t get much time to spend with them, but it was great to see all those guys. They were singing my songs from my previous films along with Ooh La La… and Ishq Sufiana…. It’s nice that even the songs of The Dirty Picture have transpired to young children. They might not have watched the film but they instantly connect to the song.”
What’s more, the fans took home something exclusive from the sets, “We were shooting for a song there. So they got to hear it much before the whole world gets to see it,” says Emraan.
Giving a sneak preview of the second instalment of his 2008 hit, Jannat, Emraan adds, “It’s set against a different backdrop this time. But it returns with a love story. It’s again about a man’s quest for success and a better life.”
